@tailsefox you could of used Dropbox/Drive/Onedrive/Box

Device and Program failure/corruption.You gotta love it. The bane of every careless artist of this age.

I understand how you feel. My Microsoft surface stopped charging months ago.

is there no way to recover the data stored in it? because broken computers can have data recovered from them...
good luck there. i hope you manage to get a replacement soon (along with an external HDD to back up stuff without depending on the cloud)

I have bits and pieces saved on my external drive from up to September, but the most important finished files are still on the broken iPad. The workers at the Apple Store told me I can send it away to get the lost data off of the iPad, but it would’ve cost upwards of $4000. At that price it would be easier to start over, so i just bought a new IPad

Man, losing projects due to technical malfunctions is the worst.
I've lost a bunch of work-in-progress games and programs in the past due to corrupted SD cards and USB sticks.

@Tawaki6ixty5ive oof. that's just too much to pay. x_X
good luck with the remakes.

God, I remember when I accidentally reformatted my external hard drive at the advice of someone else and thought I lost everything. The 1,000 yard stare I had when I had just witnessed a decade-and-a-half of my life's work just gone with a simple mistake. I fell to the floor and just sobbed so much. It sounds dumb, but as a musician/artist, it was the closest one could feel to losing a loved one without actually losing a loved one. When I came to, I bought some good recovery software and a new external harddrive all one-day-delivery, it put me in a hole money-wise for awhile, but I was not about to lose that much hard work just because of money. I ate shit food for a long while until I got more financially-stable again. I am so sorry this happened to you.

A wise lesson that every digital (f)artist is bound to learn the hard way at some point: back up your stuff.

May want to take your Ipad to some independant repair place, and see if they can recover what's on there for a price that is not absolutely insane.
